Townline Adds Summit Checkers as an Okanagan-Inspired Local Game
The Townline Games edition recasts classic checkers as a local climb through Foothill, Ridgeline and Summit difficulty levels.

Townline has launched Summit Checkers, an Okanagan-inspired version of the classic board game built for short local play sessions. The edition translates the shared ARQS Checkers system into Townline language: matches become routes, the computer is the Summit Guide and the three difficulty choices are Foothill, Ridgeline and Summit.
The game can be played against the Summit Guide or by two locals sharing one device. A Trail Guide explains the next useful idea, while “Scout a move” and “Step back” provide hint and undo controls. Route history and trail-marker achievements give returning players a visible record without requiring a Townline account.
Progress is saved locally in the browser. Townline does not require an account for Summit Checkers, and the game’s play state is not presented as a public profile. The board is designed for keyboard, touch and mouse input, with labelled cells for assistive technology and reduced-motion handling for visitors who request it.
Although the edition changes the atmosphere, it keeps the underlying rules intact. Mandatory captures, multi-jumps, crowns, backward-moving kings and draw conditions are enforced by the same tested engine used in the original ARQS release. That shared foundation lets Townline focus on a local presentation without maintaining a separate rules system.
Summit Checkers expands Townline Games alongside the network’s events, entertainment and community discovery pages. The launch page also includes a sponsorship route for local advertisers interested in a branded placement around the game rather than inside a child-directed account system.
The new game is available now from Townline’s entertainment network. Visitors can begin at Foothill, move through Ridgeline and test the Summit level, or sit down with another player for a local match.
