PANEL 1A clear elevator drops past coral towers and silver fish. JAY: “Vibe check: this hotel has better wallpaper than our house. The wallpaper is FISH.” TRAY: “Plan first, panic later. Do not wave at every fish.” JAY: “Too late. I’m networking.”
PANEL 2Ms. Luma meets them beneath an octopus chandelier. A round service robot bumps a sofa with twelve towels. BOLD CAPTION: THE TOWELS LAND ON BOLT LIKE A FLOOFY TOWEL MOUNTAIN. BOLT: “YIP!” RAE: “Bolt has achieved laundry camouflage.”
PANEL 3Ms. Luma points to the request screen. MS. LUMA: “Junior concierges: greet guests, send the right robot, and never open a room door without a guest’s okay.” TRAY: “Rules in the app.” RAE: “Our rate?” MS. LUMA: “Eighty-four dollars and twenty-five cents for the shift.” JAY: “Bet. I accept payment in money and possibly a tiny muffin.”
PAGE 2
PANEL 4Rae studies the tube map. RAE: “Kid version: an underwater hotel is a strong, dry bubble. Service robots use safe hallways to carry stuff.” TRAY: “Like a lunchbox on wheels in a fish tank?” RAE: “Exactly. A very expensive lunchbox with manners.”
PANEL 5Tray sends Robot 6 with cocoa; Jay greets a family on the desk screen. JAY: “Welcome! Your window has three stingrays and one fish who looks like my math face.” GUEST: “Which face is that?” JAY: “The confused but hopeful one.”
PANEL 6Glitch hears “Send seaweed slippers to Suite Seven.” GLITCH: “Sending seven seaweed slurpees to Slipper Suite!” BOLD CAPTION: A GREEN, BUBBLY FOUNTAIN ZOOMS OUT OF THE SERVICE TUBE AND PLUNKS A CUP ON JAY’S HEAD. JAY: “I have been smoothie-hatted. This is low-key delicious.” RAE: “Read the manual, Jay. Also, do not drink the manual.”
PAGE 3
PANEL 7A nervous guest needs a quiet route to supper. Fish crowd the window. TRAY: “Robot routes need a traffic plan, too. We’ll use the calm hall, then the bubble lift.” MS. LUMA: “Big-brain concierge work.”
PANEL 8Bolt sees a roomba-like robot and leaps into the rising bubble lift on towels. BOLD CAPTION: BOLT FLOATS UPWARD LIKE A TINY, SCRUFFY HOTEL BELLHOP. JAY: “He got promoted before me!” RAE: “His uniform is one sock and fearlessness.”
PAGE 4
PANEL 9Rae clips on the Bubble-Level Bracelet, which flashes when a tray tilts. RAE: “This keeps trays level in moving elevators. I brought a wrench AND a warranty.” The bracelet warns that Robot 6 is wobbling. TRAY: “That tracks. Seven slurpees are not a balanced lifestyle.”
PANEL 10The Crew returns slippers and cocoa. Ms. Luma pays; Jay gets a muffin. MS. LUMA: “You fixed the mix-up kindly and fast.” RAE: “Pay us properly—already handled. Real ones.” TRAY: “Crew Bank ledger: $742.75 plus $84.25 equals $827.00.” JAY: “Next message says ‘rocket pad.’ Hold my juice box.”

Tech Talk with Rae

RAE’S PANEL-IN-A-BOX: Tough walls and air systems keep underwater hotels dry. Robots use maps, but humans spot weird orders. Seven seaweed slurpees is a smoothie emergency. TRY IT: Draw a safe room-to-kitchen route.
